Dear Friends of KitKat December 31, 2014
December 21, 1995. As I was opening the back door with a can of tuna in hand, I heard my wife, Bredow say, “Kids – do not feed that cat!” There were several days of intense negotiation, and each night, KitKat brought a rodent to prove that she was a good provider to the family enterprise and not a slacker. Finally, Mom relented and we adopted KitKat Thompson.
KitKat was ageless. I took her to another vet in town-the doctors said that she was likely 3 or 4 years old at the time. I never went back because, like when I took her to be blessed with the animals at the Episcopal Church, she freaked out with all the dogs. It does date her. She would have been over 20 when she died.
My son admired her athleticism. She was also a fierce warrior. KitKat could scale a 10 ft. brick wall parkour style, and despite very Vet’s advice, spent many nights out. We could hear the feline disputes, and in the morning – there would be scraps of fur, not of KitKat’s color on the sidewalk.
KitKat was not a lap cat. However, she did want to be with you. She would sit beside you on the sofa, and she always wanted to rest in the same room with you. It is particularly memorable to remember when you went outside to weed the flower beds. KitKat would come around, sit in the grass facing outward to guard you against any unseen enemy.
KitKat was a faithful friend. She was a great friend to my daughter when she needed a friend in her teen years.
More recently, we wanted to travel almost monthly to see our grandkids, We were so glad to be able to board KitKat at Memorial Cat Hospital. Dr. Folger knew that our KitKat was smart – she may seem to object to an exam, but in the end she was compliant.
I want to thank all of you for the kindness you have shown all of us. There is a providential message in the end of KitKat’s life. We were going out of town, and I needed to get my wife’s car in the shop, and so I brought KitKat to you a day early. I knew she was in distress, but did not realize how much. When we adopted her 19 years ago, I accepted this responsibility, and am now glad that I could face her passing with sadness but accepting the responsibility for her welfare, much as my personal living will states.
Thank you for your compassion
I can’t begin to thank you enough for all the many kind and wonderful care you provided for Callie for the past thirteen years. Each of you treated her as if she was your own cat. We miss her so much, but are grateful for the years we had with her – certainly due to excellent veterinary care you provided. What a blessing your clinic is to our community.
Thank you for everything.

Dear Dr.’s Folger, Pittari, McCaine and Staff
A big thanks to everyone for the outstanding medical care, understanding and patience during our many visits with Flynn and Izzy during their first few weeks in their new home. They are doing very well, quite mischevious, and a lot of fun. They make us laugh a lot!
You and your wonderful staff recently treated our beloved cat Dusty for heart failure and complications leading up to his having to be euthanized.
Bruce and I will be forever grateful for not only the expert way in which you handled the situation but for the obvious loving manner in which you treated him…and us…considering the circumstances.
It is because of your expertise, dedication, compassion, and love to your patients that make you a great veterinarian. You are truly an asset to your profession and field. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for saving Bentley.
Very Fondly, Rebecca and Mike
How can I ever thank you enough for saving my life, you are and always will be MY HERO. You’re purr-fect!
Love Bentley (the cat)
